Amory Jun 02:05
Down in the garden Days afterwards I lay Coyly Down in the garden Days afterwards I say : I will be your Amory Jun Fast as the water Slow as the end of day Oh Vie! Clear as a meadow Warm like the sun in rain: I will be your Amory Jun

Closer 04:00
White little lies like White little roses in the rain Now we’re even closer than before Signs of a shadow pass me by Like songs of a new day on the rise Now we’re even closer than before And you would say to me “I’ve never been happier!” And I would say to you “I’ve never been here before this day… I was just a shadow by the moon. Light of the night, I’m yours!”

Hello Your window is an open book I read it sentence by… hoping to find you there in the distance between The skin of the mountain is smooth and bare like a skipping stone rolled in the sea I can hear you walking I can hear you You are a skip You are a skipping stone I treated you like an apothecary Dream by dream ~ I read it sentence by sentence There in the distance ~

Tapestry 02:50
I’ll break like the summer wind that rushes though the leaves And you’ll hear me coming Like land on skin Like tapestry unrolling And I’ll call you like the summer wind Why don’t you keep your mystery? Ain’t no need to hide Ain’t no need to sheath You get what you see
5.
Bones 03:30
White walls you are the catcher of dreams and the shadows of living things lay upon your brow And the so the day goes by and the last light that remains is a shimmering refrain of a ghost you once knew well These bones, these bones, these bones, This home, this home, this home Is what I believed it to be….
6.
Orion's Belt 02:21
We’re gonna find Orion’s Belt We’re gonna tie it in a knot Me and Amory Jun We’re gonna find Orion’s Belt We’re gonna connect all the dots Me and Amory Jun!

“A” said now don’t you cry, I’ll be back again someday when the weather feels alright Why don’t you fill your life with all the things that make you glad and wash away all the sad. Maybe you’ll find you won’t be needing me no more. And so, that is life. “B” said now wait a while, I’ll hold a space for you inside but I’ll keep on living out my life and maybe you’ll be right - I won’t be needing you no more but I won’t forget to keep the door open. And when that day arrives we’ll say: Oh there you are, Oh there we were, Oh here we are. So goodbye, farewell. So good fare

about

Hello there. : )

I'm so glad to give this little album to you, at last.

I had written it in the winter of 2014 and recorded the instruments in the spring of 2015, the vocals the next year, completing it with mastering in 2017. I always wanted to release it in the Spring but I had to wait for the right one. So, here we are, it is spring again and the flowers are coming up and the rains are gently falling - like how I intended this album to sound like. You can hear some of the thunderstorm and rain caught into the recording the day we recorded it in the living room of my apartment, you can hear the children playing in the street outside after the sun came out, and you can hear the tiny typewriter sounds of the footsteps of my little dog, too. All during one rainy spring day in Montreal.

I thank my sweet brothers: Luke Loseth, Justin Wright, Gregory Burton, and Evan Tighe for coming together, supporting, cheering, loving, and helping me create this. I find this album is not just mine, but made with and for my community, and I hope any part of it brings you any amount of tenderness.

Amory + Jun were names I wanted to give to the children I didn't have then, so I named this album Amory Jun with that love I had instead, named and found an aspect of myself Amory Jun too. "Orion's Belt" is the celebration song I made for them. For all children. For us. :)

Each song sits more like a thought or a question. Some a reflection of the heart, some of the mystery of life/death; of living, of love.

Thank you for listening and being here.

I wish you well, I wish you love, and I wish you all the happiness.

about

Ohara Montréal, Québec

Ohara’s music has the beauty of a paradox: it’s both slow and upbeat, both vulnerable and resilient, both gentle and assertive – her vocals float out into the room with a tender clarity. Alone or accompanied by friends, Ohara Hale reveals the more tender and thoughtful aspects of her body of life-art-work. It’s a poem, a song, a leaf, a cloud. It is something you can hold, something you can have. ... more
