about

This song was written during the first moments of recording the album - while testing the mic and the guitar - in my little garden apartment with the bay windows overlooking Fairmont and the mountain. There was a thunderstorm that day and later the children came out to play. Amory + Jun were names I thought I would give my children if I had them, but that year I decided I might not have children, not then or anytime near then at least, and would pour that kind of love I had into making a small album instead. Later on I discovered that Amory Jun was a part of my own self and that I had just planted the seed for it in the song. Years later (now) I think Amory Jun has come to bloom. For me, and for you too, I will be your Amory Jun. ;) <3

lyrics

Down in the garden
Days afterwards I lay
Coyly

Down in the garden
Days afterwards I say :
I will be your Amory Jun

Fast as the water
Slow as the end of day
Oh Vie!

Clear as a meadow
Warm like the sun in rain:
I will be your Amory Jun

about

Ohara Montréal, Québec

Ohara’s music has the beauty of a paradox: it’s both slow and upbeat, both vulnerable and resilient, both gentle and assertive – her vocals float out into the room with a tender clarity. Alone or accompanied by friends, Ohara Hale reveals the more tender and thoughtful aspects of her body of life-art-work. It’s a poem, a song, a leaf, a cloud. It is something you can hold, something you can have. ... more
