about

This has always been a special song to play live. Candle-like. Before I begin the song,I teach the melody that Justin plays on his cello and invite everyone to learn it and sing it together later on in the song. As the audience continues on, I release the last words of our prayers and we finish the song together. I ask for everyone to think of things and people that have come and gone in their lives and know that the love always remains - it can never be taken away - and then we let that go.

This song sounds like it is between two people, "A" and "B" but it's really about one. As everything really is ( are, were, was, we ) anyways.

Thank you for joining/listening.
I love you.

lyrics

“A” said now don’t you cry,
I’ll be back again someday when
the weather feels alright
Why don’t you fill your life
with all the things that make you glad
and wash away all the sad.
Maybe you’ll find you won’t be
needing me no more.
And so, that is life.

“B” said now wait a while,
I’ll hold a space for you inside
but I’ll keep on living out my life
and maybe you’ll be right -
I won’t be needing you no more
but I won’t forget to keep the door open.
And when that day arrives we’ll say:

Oh there you are,
Oh there we were,
Oh here we are.
So goodbye, farewell.
So good fare

about

Ohara Montréal, Québec

Ohara’s music has the beauty of a paradox: it’s both slow and upbeat, both vulnerable and resilient, both gentle and assertive – her vocals float out into the room with a tender clarity. Alone or accompanied by friends, Ohara Hale reveals the more tender and thoughtful aspects of her body of life-art-work. It’s a poem, a song, a leaf, a cloud. It is something you can hold, something you can have. ... more
